About markie09

a music lover at heart, hopeless romantic, sports fan, frustrated DJ and photographer, workaholic-slash-homebody who spends most of his time pondering on when his time on the relationship ride will come; a quiet, yet equally loquacious individual who would rather be at the sidelines than hog the limelight, yet at times longs for his 15 minutes of fame; an imaginative and observant movie buff who most of the time watches movies or binge-watch TV series alone and considers professional wrestling as a real sport; a detail-oriented drummer wannabe who at times would change his mind at the last minute, yet determined and focused once his mind and heart is set on a goal; a taken-for-granted, dignity-trampled-on, emotionally-ignored individual who is easy to fall in love with, yet always being played a second fiddle by women whom he falls for; a Gemini in the true sense of the word who would think of the most obnoxious and dreadfully naughty things at one time, and preach of morality, righteousness and the good of mankind in another; a self-professed loner who takes on the world and the cruelties that go along with it, on the verge of giving up but for some unknown reason continues to press on and make people around him think better of who and what they think they are simply because he just damn cares.

much needed r&r

it's gonna be the start of a four-day weekend for me after work today.  yipee!!  😀

i'm taking a much needed break after giving year-end appraisals and doing all other year-end work related stuff.  i'm not much in the mood for writing long entries these past few days. but now being february, some things are coming to mind… i dunno why, but ideas seem to pop at the most unexpected times.  including one i'm planning for the next few weeks.  but for now, i'm looking forward to a movie (night at the museum), alcohol shots, and, well… some other stuff.  🙂

i can't think of a better a way to start the month of hearts…

nowhere to go

i'll be stuck at home this weekend…

why?  'coz wallet is empty.  freakin' payday is still on tuesday night…

unless someone out there would be willing to treat me out, even just for coffee…

hope everyone else has a good one…

*sigh*  😦

that’s entertainment?

i've been in a ranting mood as of late.  i don't know why, but maybe one reason is that payday is more than a week away and i barely have enough to get me through.  believe me, you'll know exactly how i feel when you're at your wits' end trying every possible way to save money until that old atm account is filled with moolah again–in a week's time–and you're reduced to being stuck at home on the coming weekend instead of seeing a movie, or having a drink with friends or, worse, when a rare opportunity of getting laid comes along.  doesn't life ever suck?!

anyways, i know i have touched on this subject before, but not in it's entirety.  but i just want to point out:  what the hell is all this fascination about our local actors and actresses doing production numbers on noontime variety shows?  i mean, i can understand the game portions, contests, and comedy skits of these programs, but to put people who can't sing and dance in front of a national audience and make them look like idiots belting out to the latest tunes and strutting with the latest grooves?  i mean, c'mon!!  i don't find a single shred of entertainment in them!!  don't get me wrong, some of them are good (well, good is saying too much already, as far they these people are concerned) in their movie and soap opera roles, but they can't do squat in singing or dancing!  why can't they just stick to acting?  at least they're bearable in doing that, but please, if you're trying to plug a movie or a daily soap on variety shows, just show up and do a plugging routine!  there's nothing wrong with that, isn't there?  you don't see tom cruise singing to what goes around comes around by justin timberlake when he makes a guest appearance on the late show with david letterman, or cameron diaz strutting to the latest dance tunes by jennifer lopez on the ellen degeneres show when they have movies to promote, do you?  let the singers or a band guesting do the singing!  please spare our senses of sight and hearing from your horrible and disgusting, not to mention, imagining-to-try-hard excuse of a performance!!  really, i just don't get it why people still shriek in delight at these so-called artists.  instead of honing their craft by being in acting workshops, they rehearse for their spectacular song and dance number on weekends.  yeah, right.  spectacular my ass!!

can somebody please give me a really, really, and i mean really good explanation as to why this is happening?  to borrow a quote from brew's blog, "what the fuck?!"

the truth and nothing but…

for sure i'm gonna get a lot of heat again from what i'm going to say, but hey, as i've said time and time again, this is my blog and i can post whatever i want based on whatever i feel about anything.  so, before i start, let it be known that you have been forewarned about this, so continue reading at your own risk.

it has been months since dj mo twister's radio show has been wrecking havoc on the airwaves, not because of his return, but of his show and what his guests are in for whenever they are being interviewed.  i personally don't listen to his show for some reasons i'd rather keep to myself, but i can't ignore the buzz that's been going around.  most notably, on his guests' answers to mo's questions.  now, what's pissing me off (well, "pissed off" is an overly extreme word to use, so i'll kinda downgrade it to "ticked off" for now) is how, number one, the reaction of people who have been name-dropped by mo's guests, and number two, how the public is reacting to the show itself.  let me elaborate each in detail:

first, notwithstanding that the guests who create the bigger controversies are male, what i'm surprised about is when mo askes the question, "name three celebrities who you have slept with," and when the guest gamely answers it with names of real people and real celebrity women, it automatically tantamounts to a "foul" being cried by some, if not all of the women named.  i mean, c'mon, for crying out loud, the guy is just truthfully answering the question!!  the guest has the option to either answer the question or not, and i believe that if you're electing to answer any question thrown to you, especially when you're being interviewed in public, answer it truthfully.  it's the guest's right to either answer the question or not, and the guest should'nt take any flak if he gamely answered the question!!  i can almost hear the reactions with, "but the question is a sensitive one, and it's about sex, so why talk openly about it?"  again, it goes back to the option of whether or not the guest will answer the question, dumb-ass!!  now i can hear so-called conservative feminists saying, "it puts women in a bad light, and it humiliates them when names are mentioned!!"  for god's sakes, lots of women are dying to get in bed with the likes of borgy manotoc, luis alandy and other hunks of showbiz, so what does that make all those women?  now, put a hottie female on that show, let her answer that question and name-drop people who did an all-nighter with them and you won't hear any negative reaction from the guys who will be mentioned, i guarantee it!!  i mean, i would be very proud if someone with the likes of aubrey miles or maui taylor would mention my name as one of their conquests.  hey, i'll be thinking that i must've done something right in my past life or something…  what am i trying to say here?  leave the guests and their answers alone.  i don't think they would tell a lie just to get off that question easily.  i mean, and i'll be saying this for a third time, they always have the option to answer it or not.  i don't understand why one actress did the slapping on the face, and another one who is filing a lawsuit against her friend.  women have always fought for equality among the men, and i don't think this is an exception to the rule.  whatever men can say, women can too, so why be so overly sensitive about the issue?

secondly, to piggyback on the first reason, why the hell to people sympathize with these actresses?  and also, why blame the show?  just because they cried, "oh my god, i can't believe he would say something like that, he was like a friend to me, and he's saying that we had sex?" yada, yada, yada on national television, public outcry over the host's ways and the show soon erupt.  here's news flash for you sick, jurassic-conservative, hung-up, and sexually deprived morons:  IT'S NOT THE SHOW'S FAULT EITHER!!  well, i do admit that i am also sexually deprived, but i don't see anything wrong with the show.  now, if you don't like what you hear, then don't listen, plain and simple!!  i just don't understand that the public suddenly labels dj mo as the bad guy who brings out the evil among other things in his guests just because he's having his show.  c'mon, give the guy some slack.  he's just raising the bar of radio talkshows and i, along with countless others, don't see anything wrong with what he's doing.

i'm no fan of mo twister, and again, i haven't listened to any episode of that talkshow.  not that i'm going to start to listen to his show, i'm not, again for reasons that are my own, but what i'm saying is don't be hard on people who tell the truth.  even if it is about sex and sexual escapades.  if certain people feel like telling the truth about anything in radio talkshows or other avenues, then let them be.  besides, it's the big G upstairs who will eventually judge them in the end.  and the universal law of karma is ever present.  as for me, well, if i ever get invited to talk about my sexual escapades, well, i always have the option of answering the questions thrown at me or not.  and that, for all intensive purposes, is the real truth.
